Issue Description:

Framerate and/or sound playback in the game is very choppy. Usually occurs on Windows Vista.

Solution #1 - Set Nerf ArenaBlast to use Direct Sound:

Run Nerf ArenaBlast and enter the Options menu. In the General tab, select the button labelled Advanced. Expand the item Audio and change the value next to UseDirectSound to true.

Solution #2 - Run Nerf ArenaBlast in Compatibility Mode (not recommended):

Right click your shortcut to Nerf ArenaBlast and select Properties. Next click the Compatibility tab and check the box labelled Run this program in compatibility mode for:. In the drop-down menu below that, select Windows 98 / Windows ME.

There are side-effects to running Nerf ArenaBlast in this compatibility mode. The game will take longer to boot and shut down, as well as become limited in the resolution it can run in. It will also disable window transparency while running, and will re-enable it afterwards. It may also cause issues with taskbars set to auto-hide. Shutting down the game while in this compatibility mode might cause an auto-hiding taskbar to become stuck in the up position until next reboot.
