This issue is present in some modern computers when using the D3D rendering driver. The frame rate does not get locked properly and the game runs much faster than it is supposed to. Note that this issue is separate from using cheats to change the speed of the game. If you enter the console command "slomo 1" (without the quotes) and the game is still running too fast, you have this issue.
Solution #1 - Switch to OpenGL Display Drivers:
The OpenGL display drivers are the recommended display drivers for NAB on modern computers. They are more up to date and compatible with modern graphics hardware. To switch to the OpenGL drivers, start by opening the game's escape menu, and navigating to the "Options" tab. Once there, make sure you are on the "General" options category. There, you will see the top box labelled "Video Driver". Click the teal box and the game will close and launch the setup program. Make sure you check the radio button labelled "Show all devices". The list of video drivers will expand to include the "OpenGl RenderDevice". Select it by clicking it once, then hit "Next" twice and finally "Run!". Now that you are running OpenGL, you may wish to tweak the visuals via the "Advanced Options" button in the "Options" menu in-game. Visual rendering tweaks are nested in the appropriately labeled option under "Rendering".
Solution #2 - Try Fullscreen and VSync in D3D Mode:
If you are unwilling or unable to switch to OpenGL drivers, you may be able to prevent the speed issue by running the game in full-screen (running in windowed mode tends to be the culprit), and / or try enabling or disabling VSync in the "Advanced Options" menu in the "Options" menu in-game. The VSync option will be located under the "Rendering" category under the appropriately labeled video driver (Direct3D Support). Try different combinations of full-screen and "Use VSync" until the game no longer runs too fast. Note that under some hardware, it is not possible to fully fix the issue under D3D, as the game may still rubber-band in multiplayer.
