Man this game brings back some memories. It's been a while since I've played so I'm just downloading the community pack again cause I got a new computer recently.

Nvm, problem doesn't happen if I host as a Dedicated server on the same box! Prob some kind of threading issue I guess. Yay!

Latest CP, ran Updater until it said up-to-date, tried manually running Ini Patcher from homepage

Yo! We're trying to get an old LAN server spun up for our house but people spike to 1,000 ping any time they die and can't respawn for like 6 full seconds. Ideas?

I love coming back to this site every year or 2 and seeing that it's still here. Like a little nostalgia timecapsule

Basically, the progressive march of updates to HTML slowly killed it, made it incompatible to run. We technically still have it archived, but it's not really possible to browse it.

So what happened to the old site?

Oh NAB, I don't think I have been active in the NAB community since like 2008

Choppy Framerate and Sound Playback in Nerf ArenaBlast

Issue Description:

Framerate and/or sound playback in the game is very choppy. Usually occurs of Windows Vista.

Solution #1 - Run Nerf ArenaBlast in Compatibility Mode:

Right click your shortcut to Nerf ArenaBlast ans select Properties. Next click the Compatibility tab and check the box labelled Run this program in compatibility mode for:. In the drop-down menu below that, select Windows 98 / Windows ME.

There are side-effects to running Nerf ArenaBlast in this compatibility mode. The game will take longer to boot and shut down, as well as become limited in the resolution it can run in. It will also disable window transparency while running, and will re-enable it afterwards. It may also cause issues with taskbars set to auto-hide. Shutting down the game while in this compatibility mode might cause an auto-hiding taskbar to become stuck in the up position until next reboot.

Solution #2 - Set Nerf ArenaBlast to use Direct Sound:

This solution is intended to fix choppy sound if the above solution did not. Run Nerf ArenaBlast and enter the Options menu. In the General tab, select the button labelled Advanced. Expand the item Audio and change the value next to UseDirectSound to true.
