In Vista I had to do it all the time. In 7 not as much, but it can still sometimes wack out the ini save location.

Alyx - 02/25/2018 - 00:50

Never had a problem where I had to do that but that might do the trick.

Alyx - 02/25/2018 - 00:49

Oh yeah there's that method too.

Rajada - 02/25/2018 - 00:47

That sometimes is the issue with locked files and folders

Yeah that's exactly why I was saying it. Lol that's when computers were simpler. (but less secure)

NerfPlayeR135 - 02/25/2018 - 00:33

Old applications created during the Windows 95/98 era, when there was no distinction between admins and normal users, often require admin permission today to run.

Alyx - 02/24/2018 - 23:57

I had to do this on my Windows 10 PC when I tried to run Deus Ex and this did the trick.

Alyx - 02/24/2018 - 23:55

Sorry if this is completely wrong Rajada, but try opening Properties where you installed it and uncheck read only and run the desktop shortcut as admin.

It sounds like you just need to re-install the beta somewhere else on your computer. It clearly isn't letting you install it where you have it now.

At some point,I wrote down a bunch of ideas for maps, mutators and a couple possible gamemodes.I have about 24 ideas for maps,8 ideas for mutators and 2 ideas for gamemodes. Most of these will be scrapped, though.I just wanted to pick the interesting out of the pointless.

These are the map ideas I find interesting:Indiana Jones-like level with clues to hidden passage ways and traps,of course.---More Horror Maps is what I wrote down---A level based on the Winchester Mystery House, sort of like a maze in a house---A level with the Pyramid of Giza in it---A big mirror maze.

This is the only idea for a mutator I find interesting out of what I thought of:Upgrading Mutator(You can use points to upgrade a weapon's damage, number of projectiles, fire rate, etc.)

After looking through all my ideas,I did not find any good ideas for gamemodes.
I mainly posted this because I personally am very unexperienced at nerf ed,so take these ideas and use them as your own if you want to.

I'm assuming you have the CP since you wrote down "More Horror Maps". So in that respect, there's a couple of maps you may or may not have seen that remind me of these ideas.

One of my first maps I made (so it isn't very good) SP-Tut'sPyramid contains the internals of a pyramid as I imagined them at the time. It's more of an exploration map, though there's no real reward at any of the dead ends.

I know there's a big mansion level, PM-NH1, but that was never finished. A big, old house interior with a maze-like floor-plan would be rather neat.

I tried a hall of mirrors once, but it ends up being a little hard for the game to render. Perhaps the newer renderer can fix that, but I'm not sure yet.
