Hi All, I have returned to 'sometimes' playing Nerf after a 2 year absence. I was pleased to discover that there seems to be a serious attempt to breath new life into the Community what with the Community Pack and News server updates and Community Website. As a consequence, although I have not played or run servers for several years, (and not before that since 1999-2000 when I lived/worked in Europe and was active there), in the spirit of things I decided to bring up 6 new servers that will run on a 24x7 basis. These servers are running on 64 bit Intel Xeon 4-multi-processor machines so will provide very good performance. If required, I can of course bring up more servers, but I think that given the limited number of users currently active, there are more than sufficient servers around the net to easily handle the load. I will be fine tuning the map lists etc. over the next week, but everything should be at least stable for now. Cheers, Grumpy |
