Basic Tips and Tricks for Nerf ArenaBlast
Page 2
A lot of this you will already know, or it will seem obvious to you, but do read on, as with any luck there may be something new. And if we can improve your point-scoring ability, that is good for all of us! I do not claim to be a top-scoring ace at Nerf ArenaBlast, but without these tips I can safely say that I would be absolutely useless. Anyway, to start with the obvious: keep moving. If you stop to think things over, and decide which way to go, you make an easy target. Similarly, if you go at the same speed in a straight line, it makes you easy to pick off, so if the place you are in allows it, dodge! And that is before you get shot at...
Most arenas have a shield and a megapower, so if you know where they are and can grab them, go for it. It makes you a lot harder to knock out, and if you have them, then with any luck your opponents won't be able to get them. It is often worth waiting for the shield to "re-spawn", but the megapower, for that useful extra 100 health-points, is a long time coming back, so unless you know that it is due real soon now, it isn't worth waiting around for.
In theory at least, some player-characters, or "avatars", have certain advantages. Some of them make small targets; it certainly looks as if they are speedier too, but I'm not entirely sure about that. Do some jump better than others?
One way to jump as far as possible, as well as taking a good run-up and making sure you leap right at the edge, is to look up when you are in mid-air, by pushing the mouse forwards. For me, it makes it a lot likelier that I will get to the megapower in Asteroid Arena, for example. Sometimes you have to be careful not to jump forwards; for example in Championship Arena you need to jump down from the upper ring walkway into arch-niches where you can find a shield or a megapower, but if you jump forwards you tend to overshoot and end up on the main floor level; best to use the "back" or "down" direction arrow while you are in mid-air. Similar power-ups are in concealed rooms off the upper ring walkway, and visible from the central area. If you stand right up against the correct wall panel, it will slide back - like the way to the doubler in Amateur Arena, or the closet with the megapower in Orbital Arena.
