Welcome back dude! Unfortunately, a lot of the old timers got lives and moved on. Its mostly the younger players that still play. If possible, you can add me on Skype (rajada.nab is my user name) and I will introduce you to the NAB group where we schedule our matches.
I'm the new administrator around here and I also updated the newer versions of the CP so you can ask me almost anything.
A lot has changed since you last played NAB. I took the opportunity of the new CP to majorly revamp some code in the original engine. You'll notice some bug fixes (like the Nerf Cannon no longer will explode a det ball twice if it first hit an opponent); you'll notice balance tweaks (like the Pulsator bolo now splits into two dangerous, electrified balls if it hits a wall); but you're going to find a TON of refined content. I remade some maps that were broken, fixed bugs in mutators, finished beta versions of maps and even trimmed out all the duplicate, unnecessary maps.
All I'm saying is, if you are used to the old NAB, prepare for a really pleasant surprise! Load up the CP 2.7, run the updater and prepare yourself for a very streamlined version of NAB.
If you want to ease into things, this site http://rajada.tumblr.com/page/17 (link starts at the least recent page) has a good amount of posts from when I first started developing the CP 2.7, up to stuff I'm working on today.
For even older (but still technically new stuff, you can look here:

This account was a publicity stunt I pulled in which I pretended that one of my Beta testers was anonymously spoiling secrets. It eventually culminated in me revealing the work on the new CP. If you dig around the forums you can find a lot of those babblings too.
I'm not a Linux guy myself but I recall a few members using Wine to run NAB. It has been a while but it may still work.
