Re:Dry Lake Island(DLI) - 2011/09/30 21:56 I totally approve of this new development. Remember to include texture packs used when you upload it (or, if its too big for Nerfarena.net, send it to me via Skype and I will upload it) How to play NAB...

Re:Dry Lake Island(DLI) - 2011/11/23 03:45 Development is going great! Yes, it's been a while since this map started but I hope I'm not breaking a sweat in vain. I's there anyone out there who will play this thing? It's kinda discouraging to see the forums go a week without a single post. I think NAB needs more players, more attention, more everything, we need a 30 second television AD! But of course I don't have the kind of money.

Re:Dry Lake Island(DLI) - 2011/11/24 18:57 Hey, raja I never thought I ever needed to refer back to Wolfs tutorials on map making. But I do. And for the first time in history the link's down. http://unreal.gamedesign.net/utc.shtml

any idea why?

Re:Dry Lake Island(DLI) - 2011/11/25 02:27 The same link is down for me, too. I've also tried going to just unreal.gamedesign.net, and I can't get to that, either. -Karatana

If I knew about this link and collection of NerfEd tutorials sooner, this map would have been finished. Now with college and work it's hard to find time to dedicate to the game, but I'm doing my best. Maybe if the Nerfed engine updated, or supported by the new Unreal Engine 3. O if it were more flexible like say, Unity3d or Torque, or 3dMax or Blender anything! Seriously though, NerfEd is like working in a 4x4 Sandbox posted on a beach that has massive never ending tiger waves which at random without warning will crash down onto you'r sand castle.

Re:Dry Lake Island(DLI) - 2012/03/26 01:12 After you bang the keyboard and complain what do you ultimately have to do?

Re:Dry Lake Island(DLI) - 2012/03/26 01:25 While roaming around the site I came across a map that had a beta test of a drive-able vehicle. That would be a great addition for my map especially since I'm more about the artistic aspect and experience the user will have when they play. I'm sure its a lengthy process to add on but hopefully its worth it. Driving a car around the DLI city map while we shoot opponents would present an entirely new Nerf experience.

Anywazzz I'm sure everyone at least expects an update right?

Re:Dry Lake Island(DLI) - 2012/03/26 19:20 Its fairly simple. Load Vehichles.u, choose the vehicle you want (below VActor in the class browser) and place it in the map. The engine will create a respawn point for it automatically during runtime, such that if it is destroyed or goes without a pilot for too long, it will respawn. Note that there are some variables that can be tweaked, like the steering and the max players, but most of that is dependent on some hard coded stuff (like, in vehicles that show the player in them, you shouldn't tweak max passengers). But you can tweak other stuff like health and projectiles (on some classes). You can even subclass the current vehicles and save it to your own pack if need be. How to play NAB...

Re:Dry Lake Island(DLI) - 2012/05/10 03:43 This map is atrocious.
This map is dead.
Out with the old in with the new,http://www.nerfarena.net/component/option,com_joomlaboard/Itemid,41/func,view/id,7799/catid,3/

Btw thanks Rajada for that info. One of the reasons why I decided to make another map again is because I followed your instructions and got results. But to use this new knowledge to tailor a cluttered map in this sorry program we call a game engine would be strenuous.

Re:Dry Lake Island(DLI) - 2012/05/10 03:50 Wow I cant believe I started this map in 2007!! 5 years in the making and its nothing but ramshackle. I guess this is a very patient community?

Re:Dry Lake Island(DLI) - 2012/05/17 02:38 I'd say dedicated. We're as impatient as any community, but we're not willing to let this game just die.

(even if we are looking for a more 'modern' version. *Hint**Nudge*)
