Awesome, stupendous, epicly super idea! - 2010/06/10 03:15
So I'm sure we all remember the NAB Theme. I use it, and if I had one complaint it was that I never made any of the cool desktops I wanted to make. Today I accidentally set a NAB screenshot as my desktop and was AMAZED by how good it looked.
So, I am officially announcing a NAB themed desktop image contest for members of Nerfarena.net! The winners will be included in an awesome NAB desktop pack and maybe some other prize, I dunno. XP
RULES:
First, you gotta be a Nerfarena.net member...
Two categories:
1) NAB Screen shot Desktops: Pure screen shots from the game that look good as desktops. No photo-shopping please (excepting the resizing/cropping process described below) and limit your 'setup' as much as ossible (you can choose levels and turn off HUD and such, though I don't mind if you want to make a level either). Here's an example.
2) NAB Themed Desktops: Desktops made with components from NAB. Photo-shopping is allowed and encouraged. The desktop I made and included in original NAB Theme Pack is a good example.
Limit of 3 entries per participant per category. This totals 6 entries per person, since we have a small amount of participants.
I do not mind you brightening your images in either category. Its totally understandable that F9 takes dark screen shots even with engine brightness turned up.
I will be judging.
I may place my own desktops into the pack but rest assured their will be at least 3 winners from each group assuming enough entries are filed.
Contest will accept entries until the end of the month, so get crackin'!
Resolutions:
STANDARD: 1280 x 1024
LCD SCREEN: 2560 x 1600
If you know how provide both sizes, if not provide the one size and I'll attempt to make the other version. But really, its up to you because if I have to make it I may be forced to cut off or crop to avoid stretching or stretch to avoid cropping, so it'd be better to your 'artistic vision' if you did it rather than me. I would PREFER the larger size so it will turn out higher detail.
Format:
.jpg file
higher quality is better
Name your file like so:
<AUTHOR NAME> - <PIECE TITLE> - <LCD/STD>
Example:
Rajada - Rajada LLC - LCD
Submit to rajada.nab@gmail.com. Attach the file or files, you may send them separately or together. Title the email as:
<AUTHOR NAME>'s submission for <CATEGORY> <NUMBER>
Example:
Rajada's submission for NAB screen shot desktops #1
NOTE: You can set NAB's resolution to 1280 x 1024 default in the options area and will not have to do any cropping or resizing for at least the standard size. Also you will get higher definition screen shots.
