RajMutators2 Critique Thread - 2010/06/14 19:46 So what did we all think of RajMutators2? Discuss bugs, balance, features, anything. I want to know what you think should be in the next version (should we need one in the future).

Version 1.9:

Balance changes:

-Rearranged which weapons replace normal weapons so that more mutated weapons will spawn near the appropriate mutated ammos
-Remade the firing modes on the Fireworks Gun; primary fires rocket-like fireworks, alternate fires a spray of ten hot sparks
-Added speed ramp-up to new Fireworks Gun primary rocket
-Fireworks Gun max ammo is 40, pickup ammo is 10 and ammo per ammo pickup is 10
-Fireworks Gun firing speed increased
-Mines have been given a slight increase in the height in which it can detect players


Bug fixes:

-Fixed the Mega Jump super power not working
-Removed some buggy code that caused arena mutators to not work 100% properly
-Made some projectiles line up better with their weapons' barrels


Added features:

-Arenas for each weapon now use non timer-based code which is more reliable and reduces lag and memory consumption
-SuperPowers now features a sound effect for every power
-SuperPowers is now more likely to give out a power (42%)
-Bots are a bit smarter with the Nuclear Wildfire (but not much )
-Added a new mutator: RajMutators2.Id
-Added the new Fireworks gun projectiles to replace the older ones in the volatile Fireworks ammo

Re:RajMutators2 Critique Thread - 2010/06/14 22:32 idk if this is in 1.1 because i had an exam to day and am too lazy to update but when using the randomizer mutator you can be firing from a stationary position and still blow yourself up

also if you move it gets a heck of a lot worse besidse that it is pretty beast

What did you think as far as weapon balance?
(You may need the newest version due to some balance changes made)

Re:RajMutators2 Critique Thread - 2010/06/15 15:44 ill look into that i dont know if you adressed this i dont know if you want this or if you want to keep it in, but boost jumping with the watermellon gun...you point it down and because it does so little damage(dont know if that is changed) you can boost really high..higher than a mega jump.

One mutator that I would love to see is a sniper mutator. I have always been ticked that the majority of (if not all) your points come from the "bonus points", because then you don't get any points when you are sniping, as you obviously can't just run over there in time to pick it up.

Perhaps you could do a mutator where you automatically get the "bonus points" without having to pick them up. That way you could still snipe profitably.

Or maybe you could still have the bonus points, but if you knock them out but don't get the "bonus points" in time, you would automatically get, say 100 points for knocking them out. Then you could still get some points for sniping, but still encourage close-up fighting.

Re:RajMutators2 Critique Thread - 2010/06/22 05:43 Grab version 1.4! Its here, its epic and it improves the mutators 10 fold! Well maybe 8 fold, but no less than 6 fold! That's a lot of folds though! When's the last time you folded a mutator? NEVER! THAT'S WHEN! So stop reading this and download it!

When running

EasyPoints.EasyPointsMutator
RajMutators2.Mario
RajMutators2.Splicer
and RajMutators2.RajArena2

all at the same time, the weapons and ammo do not get replaced.

And yes, I am running V 1.81.

I have no problems running those 4 together. I suspect that the map has no default gametype, which causes issues sometimes.

I'll be updating RM2 hopefully by Monday.
